In English

The “History on the Table” cooking classes are available as two distinct offerings.

  • “Un ’Tit Goût” (A Little Taste) classes are 30 minutes long, offered at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.   on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Morning treat recipes like pain perdu, beignets or croquesignoles are served with coffee or water.   Afternoon sessions present offerings like bread pudding, gateau de sirop or fruit cobbler. Students receive lessons on preparation of the dish, a generous serving of the item prepared, and can take home a recipe.   Class minimum is 4 people and sign-up is available at the gift shop or email vermil@vermilionville.org

  • Regular one and a half hour classes feature recipes for three Cajun or Creole menu items.   The class consists of preparation of roux-based main dishes, traditional vegetable items and delectable desserts. Included are recipes and instruction, followed by enjoyment of an appetizer, entrée, vegetable, biscuit, dessert and drink of choice.  Groups may select from a wide menu.   Maximum seating is 42. Travel tour, club, corporate or group classes are available by advance registration either via emailing vermil@vermilionville.org or calling Vermilionville at 337-233-4077 X 208.
